Search Manager
Summary
Reports to: Digital Media Director
The Search Manger will lead the development and execution of paid search strategy for the agency’s clients, with guidance from the Search Associate Director. This includes input gathering from client and internal teams, conducting research, concepting campaign structures, campaign implementation, creating reports, and the ability to articulate concise rationale for any/all of the above. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of paid search management and analysis and the ability to learn and apply new skills quickly. This role requires collaboration with various teams within the agency and a dedication to upholding best practices.
Core Responsibilities
In Platform / Hands On Keyboard (~50-65% of time)
- Able to play out consumer behaviors & paths to inform strategy
- Translate complex client business hierarchies into in-platform executions
- Develop of keyword & ad copy approaches
- Translate goals and KPIs to CTAs, landing pages, conversions, tagging approaches and aid in set-up
- Exemplify quality and process standardization across clients, accounts and media channels (ex: taxonomy)
- Ensure test approaches are set up in a meaningful way
- Build & maintain campaigns in platform
- Proactively monitor campaigns to address pacing & performance against campaigns, develop solutions to address & communicate with stakeholders (optimization logs)
- Conduct in-depth analysis, mining for optimizations across key campaign levers (i.e. campaign structure, keywords, ad copy, bids, time of day / day of week, etc.)
- Contribute insights to cross channel client reporting
Admin (~25% of time)
- Owning & maintaining assigned portion of buy summary & client billing process
- Inputting & updating buy details in agency buy management & billing software system in accordance with cross channel digital procedure
- Verifying & approving vendor invoices, troubleshooting incorrect invoices as needed
- Maintain annual industry & platform certifications
- Maintain & regularly audit user access for media platforms
Account Service / Leadership (~10-25% of time)
- Assist with Search client management
- Respectfully question status quo with an eye toward incremental improvement
- Contribute to development of agency tools & process
- Collaborate with cross functional agency leads, digital and non-digital
- New business research & pitch support
- Industry POV development
- Agency / industry tech & tool reviews
Supplementary Non-Media (~0-5% of time)
- Lead SEM / SEO alignment, as assigned
Qualifications
Experience
- Require 2-4 years of experience in paid search hands on keyboard planning & execution
- Prefer client facing
- Prefer experience working on agriculture and a variety of other accounts
- Prefer College or University degree in marketing, business, or related field
- Nice to have experience working on a wide variety of client accounts
- Nice to have SEO
- Nice to have legal / regulatory copy approval process

- Power user of Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in Google Ads, Google Analytics
- Familiarity with Microsoft Advertising, Google Search Ads 360, Microsoft PowerPoint
- Nice to know Adobe Analytics, Google Tag Manager (or other tag management tools)

- Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $50,000 – 70,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
